Welcome to the 2nd Nordic Salsa Experience

It is a great pleasure for us at Salsa Kompaniet and Danseglede to welcome you to the 2nd Nordic Salsa Experience.This congress is a cooperation between the biggest salsa schools in Norway, and our goal is to create an international salsa event for both Cuban and LA/NY dancers. You will experience a weekend full of classes, parties, international instructors, DJs, live salsa bands and much more.
Last year was a huge success and we are looking forward to an even better congress this year. The congress will be held at Union Scene, which is situated alongside the Drammen river. The place is a well known location for salsa concerts and parties. This old warehouse is newly renovated and is a perfect place for a large salsa event. Union Scene has booked Nils Fischer & Timbazo to form part of Nordic Salsa Experience.

Big Latin Boom party on Saturday with DJ Ariel and DJ Mauricio

New as of this year, this is an event for all those who love Latin music. Two of Norway's best Latin music DJs will be coming to Nordic Salsa Experience on Saturday night to play the Latin Boom concept. The atmosphere will be great and we will enjoy the best of Latin American music. Don't miss out!

Osbanis & Anneta and Roy Reyes are coming to Nordic Salsa Experience

The start date for the festival is approaching, but artists are still being booked. For all those who dance Cuban style, we inform you that Osbanis & Anneta are coming to Drammen. This couple is among the best and most popular instructors within Cuban style. Roy Reyes from Mexico is also coming and will teach bachata to all you bachata lovers.

New opportunity for cheap accommodation during Nordic Salsa Experience

Due to the high demand for cheap accommodation, we have found a new alternative for those who weren't able to book a bed in the villa. 4 kilometers from Union Scene lies Drammen Camping. We have booked 4 people camping cabins for Nordic Salsa Experience participants.

Alma Negra from Poland confirmed to come to the congress

Alma Negra is a dance group consisting of four of Poland's best salsa dancers. The group was formed over a year ago, but all of the dancers have broad experience in teaching and participating in other dance groups. During the short time the group has existed, they have already attended several congresses around Europe. At Nordic Salsa Experience they will perform their newest show for the first time.

Super Mario from the UK coming to Nordic Salsa Experience

We are now able to confirm that Super Mario is coming to Drammen. He is one of the most famous instructors in Europe and has gained the nickname "The Million Moves Man" due to his many fun and creative combinations. There will definitely be many aha experiences in his lessons when it comes to leading and following.

We are happy to announce that the line-up for the congress is nearly complete. This year you will be able to take classes with some of the best salsa instructors in Europe. Food during Nordic Salsa Experience

The cafe at Union Scene will serve empanadas meat and vegitarian, baguetts, fruit, muffins, cookies and chocolate. The barbeque buffet cost 200 NOK and is pre-booked in the cafe. There is a supermarket (Mega) five minutes walk from Union Scene.

Cross Over classes for dancers wanting to try out a new style

Do you dance only one salsa style, but would like to try out something new? During Nordic Salsa Experience you have the possibility to participate in one of our Cross Over classes. On Friday at 20:00 before the concert there is a class for Cuban style dancers and onther for LA dancers. You will learn the basics in order to be able to dance the opposite style.

Salsa parade to Drammen city center Saturday 12th of June

Last year's salsa parade was a huge success and this year it will be even greater. On the 12th of July, Drammen city celebrates its city festival and our salsa parade will be a part of this. The parade goes from Union Scene to the to the city center, where there will be a two hour salsa show, including dance performances, salsa bands and a lot of dancing for everybody.

"Lunch dancing" both on Saturday and Sunday during the congress

Salsa music will be played during lunch outside in our common area both on Saturday and Sunday. You will be able to dance salsa to the music of our excellent DJs. This part of the congress is open for everyone and has no cost. If the weather is nice, it will be a relaxing place to hang out, strategically situated along the Drammen river.

The schedule for Nordic Salsa Experience 2010 is now ready. It includes excellent instructors, interesting classes and five different levels. Would you like Cuban, LA or NY style, or would you like to learn cha-cha-cha? There are many options. We offer 2 cross-over lessons for those who wish to learn Cuban salsa who dance LA normally, and vice versa. This is a great opportunity to enrich your salsa knowledge.
